Balloons have always been a popular party decoration for years so why not use them for Hanukkah also. Balloons can change the whole look of the room, or even be used as invitations.
It is amazing how you can change the whole look of a room with a packet of balloons that relate to Hanukkah. White and blue balloons can be found at any party store. The Star of David is also a focal point during the Hanukkah season. To make things easier purchase a cheap helium tank at your local supermarket. They make party tanks that cost under $20. Blow up between 30-40 balloons. Make sure to use a variety of blue and white. Also blow up about 5-10 Star of David balloons. Tie a piece of ribbon on each balloon. You want the ribbon to hang above the guest’s head, but not be in their face. Let the balloons rise up to the ceiling and just leave them there. This is a quick and easy way to turn a boring room into a Hanukkah party room.
Most people don’t think about using balloons for Hanukkah invitations, but they make unforgettable invitations. For Hanukkah you will want to use blue, white, or Star of David balloons. Blow up the balloon, but do not tie it. Use a permanent marker to write out the time, date, location, and RSVP information on the balloon. Let the marker dry and deflate the balloon. Hand out the deflated balloons to your guest. They will have fun blowing up the balloons to find your written Hanukkah party surprise written on them.
These are just a couple of fun ways to make balloons a focal point at your next Hanukkah party. Children love balloons. Let the children pick out a balloon from the ceiling to take home for quick clean up.
